Sophie Lamonde is a partner at Stikeman Elliott.
She joined the Foundation’s Board in 2011 following her father’s death in the palliative‑care unit. Her father spent four hours in the unit — four hours that left a lasting impression on the family. In 2017, a similar story unfolded: her mother received a terminal cancer diagnosis and spent nine days in the unit — nine days marked by laughter, tears and profound, lived silences until the end.
Sophie is involved with the Foundation to ensure that such meaningful life moments can be experienced by people at the end of life and their families.
