A physician in palliative medicine since 2016, Marie‑Christine Carrier currently practises at the CHUM after beginning her career at Hôpital Notre‑Dame. Her commitment to improving access to palliative care is reflected both in her clinical practice and her teaching activities, as well as in her involvement with the Société québécoise des médecins de soins palliatifs.
A medical graduate of the Université de Montréal, she completed a family medicine residency followed by advanced competency training in palliative care. She is also a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in palliative medicine.
Recognised for her academic excellence and commitment, she has received several honours, including the Dean’s Honour List from the Faculty of Medicine at Université de Montréal and the Silver Medal from the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Ottawa.
Convinced of the importance of foundations like PalliAmi in supporting hospital‑based care and services, she joined the Board to contribute to the organisation’s long‑term sustainability.
