This training helps them better understand the reality of patients and their families, as well as the essential role they play within the accompaniment team.

Grounded in the values of listening, presence, and compassion, this training gives volunteers the tools to respond appropriately in a sensitive and deeply human environment. The Foundation also offers ongoing training to meet changing needs and ensure accompaniment remains always adapted, humane, and reassuring.

Since 2019, the PalliAmi Foundation has also been training volunteers to accompany bereaved people, using Jean Monbourquette’s method. This approach further enriches the Foundation’s support services and reflects its commitment to accompanying the different stages of life and grief with humanity.

Research

The PalliAmi Foundation supports research that helps deepen understanding of the needs of people receiving palliative care and end-of-life care, as well as those of their loved ones. By supporting meaningful projects, it contributes to the advancement of knowledge, the improvement of practices, and the humanisation of care offered to patients and those around them.

This research may address different aspects of accompaniment, including pain relief, psychological and social support, the experience of loved ones, and the improvement of quality of life at the end of life. Each supported project reflects a desire to advance care with compassion, rigour, and respect for dignity.

How to apply

Researchers or teams interested in submitting a project may contact the PalliAmi Foundation to learn more about eligibility criteria, funding priorities, and submission requirements.
